Pāmu’s unique deer milk product continues on its award-winning way as a finalist in two upcoming prestigious awards.

The company’s Doe Nutrition product, which is being marketed in Vietnam by in-market partner Ciels, is a finalist in the beverage category of the 2022 NZ Food Awards, and has also been nominated in the 2022 Fieldays Innovation awards.

The two new award nominations come on the heels of the the products win at World Dairy Innovation Awards earlier in the year.

Deer Milk Business Lead Hamish Glendinning says the nominations are another exciting milestone in the ongoing development of the deer milk category.

“The ongoing interest in Pāmu Deer Milk is validation of the hard work and innovation that has gone into creating an all-new high value product for the agri-sector.

“Deer milk unique properties and its multiple uses – from skin care to nutrition – have really peaked the interest we are seeing in deer milk, and these two nominations are a part of that growing interest.

“Our deer milk product has been steadily growing in popularity and we believe the best is yet to come as science starts to underpin the many benefits of this world first ingredient.

“We believe that the unique nutritional profile of Pāmu Deer Milk holds huge potential in the aged nutrition space, and research is underway to validate this,” Mr Glendinning says.

Pāmu Deer Milk is sourced through a partnership with Peter and Sharon McIntyre, who run a deer farm near Gore and now through the company’s own pilot farm Aratiatia, in the North Island’s central plateau.

“Our new deer milking facility near near Taupo, which will complement our existing supply, will give us the ability and flexibility to, continue to grow the deer milk category.

“We are thrilled to be up for these two prestigious award, against some other worthy finalists, and it shows the huge amount of innovation, investment and new thinking that is a feature across the agri-sector,” Mr Glendinning said.

The NZ Food Awards will be announced on 13 October in Palmerston North, while the Fieldays Innovation Awards will be announced at Fieldays in Mystery Creek, which runs from 30 November – 3 December 2022.
