Aria Reeves
Ngāpuhi and Tūwharetoa

From the rolling hills of Taupō and Taumarunui, Aaria Reeves has always felt at home in the outdoors. Now, as a Pāmu Apprentice, she’s turning her love for livestock, steep country, and working dogs into a farming career.
“I’ve been around farming for a while, helping out during school holidays, but I wanted to take it to the next level. The support in this apprenticeship program and being close to home made it the perfect choice for me,” says Aaria.
With whakapapa to Ngāpuhi and Tūwharetoa, Aaria has a strong connection to the land. Her biggest influence? Her cousin, who introduced her to farming and set her on the path to becoming a head shepherd one day.
Outside of work, you’ll find Aaria riding horses on steep hill country, tearing up trails on her dirt bike, or out hunting. She thrives on being active and learning something new every day.
She’s got big ambitions for her time at Pāmu:
“I want to shear sheep fast, build a solid team of working dogs, and work my way up to head shepherd. And, of course, have some good horses and make a bit of money along the way.”
With her trustworthy, funny, and hardworking attitude, Aaria is one to watch as she builds her future in the industry.
Where does she see herself in five years? “Head shepherd, with a good pack of dogs and nice horses, working steep hills.” Sounds like she’s well on her way.
